Product Name

A prescribed name or accurate description of the food is mandatory under FSANZ Standard 1.2.2.

Nutrition Information Panel

A NIP is mandatory for most packaged food under FSANZ Standard 1.2.8. Exemptions exist for very small packages, single-ingredient products, and some others. Use our NIP Formatter tool to create one.

Ingredient List

An ingredient list in descending order of ingoing weight is mandatory (FSANZ Standard 1.2.4). Single-ingredient foods are exempt.

!Allergen Declarations

No allergen text entered. If your product contains any of the 11 NZ/AU mandatory allergens (gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, soybeans, tree nuts, sesame, lupin, molluscs), they must be declared.

Date Marking

A date mark is mandatory for most packaged foods. Use "Best Before" (quality) or "Use By" (safety). Foods with a shelf life of 2+ years may be exempt (FSANZ Standard 1.2.5).

Storage conditions should be included when they affect shelf life or safety. E.g. "Store in a cool dry place" or "Refrigerate after opening".

Net Weight / Volume

Net weight or volume must be declared in metric units on the principal display panel (FSANZ Standard 1.2.2).

Country of Origin

Country of origin is mandatory. Use "Made in New Zealand", "Product of New Zealand", or the equivalent for the relevant country.

Supplier Details

The name and business address of the supplier (manufacturer, packer, or importer) must appear on the label (FSANZ Standard 1.2.2).

No lot/batch identification provided. While not strictly mandatory for all products, it is essential for traceability and recall capability.
