Proof Review Checklist
Work through each item before approving your label proof. Select your product type to see the relevant checks, then mark each item as OK, Issue, or N/A.
Compare the brand name letter-by-letter against the approved version.
Check the product name, flavour, or variety matches this specific SKU.
Verify website URL, email address, and phone number are accurate and current.
Search for Lorem ipsum, TBC, XX%, TODO, INSERT, or any bracketed placeholders.
Read all text carefully for typos, missing punctuation, and awkward phrasing.
Confirm the alcohol percentage matches the lab analysis or product specification.
Verify the standard drinks figure matches the calculated value from volume and ABV.
Check for the HPA-approved pregnancy warning label or equivalent text.
Look for a clear origin statement such as 'Product of New Zealand' or 'Made in New Zealand'.
Verify the business name and physical street address of the producer, packer, or importer.
Check all relevant allergens are declared (e.g. sulphites, milk, egg, wheat, nuts).
Confirm the net contents are shown in metric units (g, kg, mL, or L).
Check the barcode is present, has quiet zones around it, and is not distorted or too small.
Verify the vintage year and grape variety match the wine in the bottle.
Measure or confirm the label dimensions match the specification for this container.
Ensure artwork bleeds at least 2mm past the trim line on all edges.
Check that text and logos are at least 3mm inside the trim line.
Zoom in to check that photos and graphics are not pixelated or blurry.
Check that colours look right on screen. Note: screen colours are indicative only.
Verify the spot UV layer covers only the intended areas (e.g. logo, pattern).
Confirm foil stamp areas are aligned with the artwork and correctly specified.
Check the die-cut outline matches the intended label shape.
Confirm the front label is on the front and the back label is on the back.
If ordering multiple SKUs, check each variant has been proofed separately.
Cross-check all feedback from the last round of revisions has been actioned.
